National Museums Liverpool is seeking an Exhibitions Lead (maternity cover, 1 year fixed-term) to manage and deliver a wide-ranging portfolio of exhibitions, displays, and gallery refreshes across its venues. The role focuses on creating memorable visitor experiences, attracting diverse audiences, and supporting the growth of NML as a high-performing cultural organisation with an international profile.

- Salary: £33,443
- Probation: 6 months
- Holidays: 30 days plus public holidays
Responsibilities
- Lead development, planning, and delivery of medium- to large-scale exhibitions and gallery refreshes.
- Manage project budgets up to £500,000, delivery programmes, and resource plans.
- Supervise cross-functional project teams and line manage at least one Exhibition Producer.
- Oversee content and interpretation with the exhibitions content team.
- Manage contracts and service agreements with external partners and contractors.
- Contribute to strategic planning, research, and development of future exhibitions.
- Monitor project performance, report on KPIs, and produce evaluation reports.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, and Museums Association Code of Ethics.
Candidate Profile
- Experience leading creative project development and delivery, including collaborations with creative partners.
- Proven track record in managing project budgets, programmes, and risks.
- Strong project management, organisational, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and innovative approach to hybrid working.
