Our Barbican Immersive department is looking for an experienced Exhibitions Manager to provide up to 12 months cover for the upcoming tour of their exhibitions including AI: More than Human and Game On. This position is pivotal in the development and delivery of the international touring programme to a broad range of organisations, including museums, galleries, and privately funded events. The main purpose is to assist the Co-Head of Barbican Immersive and other team members in developing the Barbican’s Touring exhibition programme, and other activities.
The position requires previous tour management experience, an expertise in co-ordinating and delivering new and existing projects, large-scale multi-media exhibitions, working to the highest professional standards, organising transport, insurance, liaising with lenders and general staging aspects of managing teams of people at venues.
Candidates should have excellent communication and organisation skills, with the ability to work well under pressure both independently and as part of a dynamic and supportive team. You must have a highly flexible and positive attitude towards work schedules, and methods of production.
Additional travel overseas is integral part of the job. This role will need to be available to travel to Spain and Scotland during the following months:
- Early October 2023 (2 weeks) – Spain
- Early June 2024 (2 weeks) – Scotland
