About the Fellowship
The Museums of Treptow-Köpenick in Berlin invite applications for a Curatorial Fellowship, a two-year, practice-oriented training program designed to provide hands-on experience in various aspects of museum and archival work. The fellowship prepares candidates for future roles in regional history museums or similar cultural institutions, offering in-depth engagement with exhibition development, research, and public programming across multiple sites, including:
- Museum Treptow
- Museum Köpenick
- Köpenicker Blood Week Memorial
- Exhibition on the Hauptmann von Köpenick
Responsibilities
- Assist in curatorial research, exhibition planning, and educational programs.
- Gain experience in museum collections management, conservation, and archival work.
- Contribute to projects related to historical remembrance and cultural heritage.
- Participate in all aspects of museum operations, including outreach initiatives.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree (obtained within the last five years) in one of the following fields:
- Modern History
- Contemporary History
- Art History
- Cultural Studies
- Public History
- Practical experience in a historical museum, including curatorial or exhibition-related work.
- Excellent written and spoken German.
- Good command of English.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Preferred qualifications:
- Previous publications or independent research related to historical topics.
