Programme Overview
Louvre Abu Dhabi’s Fellowship and Grants Programme supports scholars and museum professionals in conducting research that aligns with one of the museum’s three thematic research areas: the Global History of Museums and Collections, the Circulation of Styles, Images, and Texts, and Precious Materials and Routes of Exchange. Fellows gain access to Louvre Abu Dhabi’s research facilities, including the Resource Center, Library, Conservation Center, and Scientific Laboratory.
Research Areas
- Global History of Museums and Collections: Focuses on global museum practices and the universal museum concept.
- Circulation of Styles, Images, and Texts: Explores the historical movement and transformation of artistic styles and artifacts.
- Precious Materials and Routes of Exchange: Investigates trade routes and the cultural significance of materials in art.
Grant Categories
- Short-term Fellowships: 3-month fellowship with a stipend of 85,000 AED and a return ticket to Abu Dhabi. Scholars are expected to deliver a lecture, participate in museum activities, and produce a research paper.
- Long-term Fellowships: 9-month fellowship with a stipend of 245,000 AED and a return ticket. Fellows will engage in similar activities as short-term fellows over a more extended period.
