Somerset House Studios is seeking a Freelance Curator (Arts and Technology) to lead the n-Space pilot project, a new interdisciplinary hub for art and technology experimentation launching in autumn 2025. This role will oversee the development, structure, and implementation of the programme, fostering collaboration between artists, technologists, and academics while expanding the visibility and impact of artists in emerging technological discourse.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and managing the n-Space pilot programme from launch to evaluation.
- Curating fellowship opportunities, developing a cohort of interdisciplinary practitioners.
- Supporting early-stage research and project development.
- Organizing public engagement activities, including exhibitions, talks, and symposia.
- Building long-term partnerships and expanding the programme’s network.
- Overseeing project management, budgeting, and evaluation.
Requirements
Essential:
- Extensive knowledge of art, technology, and innovation.
- Strong curatorial experience in interdisciplinary programmes.
- A well-established network in the art and technology sector.
- Experience supporting creative projects and research initiatives.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting and team coordination.
- Ability to engage diverse audiences and support digital inclusion.
Desirable:
- Experience in fundraising, sponsorship, and evaluation.
- Familiarity with community-building platforms (Discord, Slack, Telegram, etc.).
- Strong research skills and ability to produce accessible, engaging content.
