ENTER Funding Programme from Nordic Culture Fund

Eligible location: Nordic Region; applicants may be based elsewhere, but initiatives must have a clear Nordic connection

The Nordic Culture Fund invites applications for ENTER, a funding programme supporting ambitious ideas that require collaboration, experimentation and development.

The programme provides space to test an idea, method or way of working before its final form or outcome is known.

About ENTER

ENTER supports initiatives that bring together different experiences, disciplines, locations and perspectives to explore an idea collectively.

Arts and culture must form a significant part of the initiative, although collaborations with other sectors, practices and areas of society are encouraged.

The programme prioritises curiosity, experimentation and learning. Applicants do not need to present a fully resolved project or guarantee a conventional artistic outcome.

Nordic Anchoring and Collaboration

Eligible initiatives must:

• Have a clear connection to the Nordic Region;
• Be developed through collaboration across borders;
• Bring together different perspectives, experiences, practices or geographical contexts; and
• Demonstrate the potential to create value within a Nordic context.

Applicants do not necessarily need to be based in the Nordic Region. However, they must explain how the initiative relates to Nordic cultural contexts and contributes to connections, opportunities or new perspectives across the region.

Assessment Criteria

Applications will be assessed according to three principal criteria.

Ambition and Collaboration

The Fund will consider whether the initiative:

• Explores, tests or develops something of significance;
• Demonstrates a clear level of ambition; and
• Presents a meaningful approach to working collaboratively.

Learning and Transformative Potential

The Fund will consider whether the initiative could generate:

• New knowledge;
• New relationships;
• New methods or working practices;
• Foundations for further development; or
• Learning that can be shared with others.

Significance in a Nordic Context

Applicants should demonstrate how their initiative could create meaningful connections, perspectives or opportunities within the Nordic Region.

If the number of eligible applications exceeds the available funding, the Fund will consider diversity across geographical areas, participants, perspectives, themes, collaborations and methods.

Funding

Applicants may request up to DKK 50,000. No co-funding is required, although expected income from other sources should be included in the application.

An additional amount of up to DKK 25,000 may be requested for costs connected to:

• Logistics;
• Personal accessibility requirements; or
• Other circumstances affecting participation or project delivery.

The total amount awarded cannot exceed DKK 75,000.

Ineligible Activities

ENTER does not support initiatives whose main purpose is:

• Formal education or study visits;
• Attendance at conferences, festivals or similar events;
• Tours or travelling exhibitions;
• Artistic productions or publications;
• Organisational running costs or core funding;
• Construction projects; or
• The purchase of equipment for everyday operations.

Activities must begin after the funding decision has been issued. Funded initiatives must be completed and reported on within one year of their stated start date.
