Bricks Gallery, founded in 2019 in Nørrebro, Copenhagen, is a contemporary art gallery working with emerging and established artists. The gallery focuses on presenting contemporary art through exhibitions, events, and collaborations, while its sister platform Limited Works specialises in making graphic works and prints more accessible to a wider audience.
The Gallery Assistant will support the daily operations of the gallery and contribute to both exhibition-related activities and commercial gallery functions, gaining hands-on experience in a contemporary art environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Register and update artworks and editions in Artlogic and Shopify
- Manage webshop orders, packing, shipping, and inventory updates
- Maintain stock, supplies, and gallery materials
- Support website updates and online content maintenance
- Welcome visitors and handle customer enquiries
- Assist with exhibitions, installations, and de-installations
- Support openings, fairs, and gallery events
- Prepare checklists and exhibition-related documentation
- Assist with social media content (Instagram and Facebook)
- Perform general administrative and ad hoc gallery tasks
Profile
Required
- Strong communication skills in English (Danish is an advantage)
- Ability to work independently and in a small team
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Proactive and welcoming attitude
- Interest in contemporary art and gallery work
Advantageous
- Background in Art History, Visual Culture, or related fields
- Experience with Adobe Suite, Artlogic, or Shopify
- Experience in customer service or gallery work
Working Conditions
- 2 working days per week (preferably Wednesday and Friday, 12:00–18:00)
- Approximately every third Saturday (11:00–16:00)
- Additional flexibility required for events and openings
- Position adaptable to academic schedule
