The South London Gallery (SLG) is a locally, nationally and internationally recognised centre for contemporary art with an acclaimed and award-winning education programme.
We are looking for people to work occasional shifts such as exhibition previews, special events, and covering absences for our regular gallery assistants. Duties may include invigilating the gallery spaces, working on the front desk and serving at events and private hires during the day, evenings or weekends. The role also involves when necessary performing gallery tours for visitors about gallery history and current exhibitions.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in contemporary art and previous experience of working within a public access building or of working with members of the public. A commitment to learning about the SLG’s programme is essential.
