Homecoming Gallery is opening applications for a Gallery Assistant Internship based in Amsterdam. This weekend-based role offers hands-on experience in a contemporary art gallery and is ideal for someone interested in gallery operations, exhibitions, and working closely with artists, visitors, and a small creative team.
The intern will support the gallery during opening hours and events, contributing to the day-to-day running of exhibitions and ensuring a welcoming and well-organised gallery environment.
Internship Format

Weekend-based position (Saturdays and/or Sundays)

On-site role at the gallery in Amsterdam

Practical experience in a contemporary art space

Direct collaboration with artists, visitors, and a small gallery team
Key Responsibilities

Welcoming visitors and clients, answering questions, and supporting the overall gallery experience

Assisting with exhibitions, openings, and public events

Supporting the coordination and daily running of exhibitions

Helping ensure artworks and displays are presented clearly and thoughtfully

Maintaining organisation and the overall flow of the gallery space
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should:

Be available on Saturdays and/or Sundays

Speak fluent English

Have a strong interest in contemporary art and gallery environments

Feel comfortable in a public-facing role

Have excellent organisational and communication skills
