
Gallery Learning and Programs Coordinator
General Purpose
This position is responsible for supporting programs for BCA Center Exhibitions that expand understanding of exhibition themes and artists’ practices through scheduled tours, hands on educational projects, and other ancillary programming. This position works in collaboration with curatorial staff to develop appropriate programming for each exhibition.

Essential Job Functions
- Build diverse audiences for BCA exhibitions and programs through outreach and partnership development and maintenance with cross-sector organizations.
- Develop curriculum and interpretive content that enhances visitor engagement with exhibitions and programs.
- Work closely with the BCA Curator to develop programmatic activities that engage new audiences for exhibition, promote artists’ work and encourage participation in BCA activities.
- Organize all group tours for BCA programs, including providing information, scheduling, and conducting or hiring staff to carry out exhibition tours.
- Engage visitors of all ages in gallery discussions that promote skills for looking at and thinking through artistic content.
- Integrate best practices in cultural competency and universal design for learning.
- Support exhibition team efforts to train staff, docents and volunteers on exhibition characteristics.
- Collaborate with BCA Education Director and other program staff as needed to develop public learning opportunities through the arts.
- Collaborate with BCA Curator and Communication Director to devise and implement evaluations and assessments of the BCA Center’s programming as required by grants and to ensure public satisfaction.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of current BCA mission, practices, services, programming and events, including artist opportunities, membership, community programs, and employment opportunities to effectively communicate information to the public.
- Update communications outlets with information on programming, tours and events as needed.
- Assist with special events and gallery installations and openings as needed.
