Annet Gelink Gallery, located in the heart of Amsterdam, is one of the leading contemporary art galleries in the Netherlands. The gallery showcases groundbreaking work in various media, including installations, video art, painting, and photography. Representing both national and international artists, the gallery features emerging and established talents. Exhibitions are organized within the gallery and externally, in collaboration with museums and at (inter)national art fairs.
Responsibilities
Planning:
- Plan, organize, and supervise exhibitions, fairs, and events with artists and technicians.
Artist Contact:
- Serve as the primary contact for several artists.
- Ensure communication and support, inventory artworks, research their work, and conduct studio visits.
Sales:
- Promote artworks and exhibitions to the public.
- Facilitate the sale of artworks to collectors.
Logistics and Transport:
- Manage the logistics of transporting artworks and arranging loans to other institutions, both nationally and internationally.
Public Relations:
- Maintain relationships with the gallery’s current audience.
- Work on expanding the gallery’s reach.
Digital Presence:
- Develop and update the gallery’s website and social media channels in collaboration with other team members.
Internship Program:
- Train and supervise interns.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in gallery management or a similar role within the art world.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with artists, collectors, journalists, and other stakeholders.
- Strong sense of responsibility, capable of executing tasks independently and reliably.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple schedules, tasks, and projects simultaneously.
- Keen attention to detail, accurate and meticulous in task execution and document management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive and solution-oriented: capable of identifying and resolving issues independently before they escalate.
- Excellent time management skills, prioritizing, and efficiently managing time and deadlines.
- Flexible, with the willingness and ability to respond to changing priorities and emergencies.
- Familiarity with the logistics of art transport and installation.
- Proficiency in managing digital platforms, including websites and social media.
