GRANT BELVEDERE/21ER HAUS CIR PROGRAMME

The Belvedere/21er Haus Curator in Residence programme (CIR) is intended for curators worldwide who would like to conduct research for around three months in the Belvedere/21er Haus, particularly on a subject relevant to the museum’s collection.

The aim of the programme is to encourage curators and researchers working on the collection and research focus of the Belvedere/21er Haus – Austrian art from the Middle Ages to the present. Networking with colleagues at the Belvedere/21er Haus and in the Vienna art and culture scene is explicitly desired.
Project proposals should

  • refer to art and art history themes from the Middle Ages to the present day
  • have a specific reference to the collection areas in the Belvedere/21er Haus.

The results of the research could be communicated in the form of a talk, internet presentation, contribution to the collection, or booklet for the public.

The Curator in Residence will be paid 1,000 euros per month for the duration of the residence, and a furnished apartment in the Lower Belvedere with a workstation will also be provided. The CIR will have access to the museum infrastructure, Research Center and Belvedere/21er Haus collections and will be able to count on the assistance of the staff members responsible for the relevant collections.
