The new Exhibitions Strategy represents the Museum’s aspiration to engage with the best practices to enhance our visitors’ experiences through beautiful, inspiring and well-crafted displays shown across SMG and globally.
To lead on this work, SMG are now recruiting for a Group Head of Exhibition Services to lead a team delivering exhibitions globally. As a service provider to exhibitions teams across the Group and at Tour venues, you will ensure the design, production, logistics and project management of exhibitions that move between sites are manged to the highest standards, including responsibility for health and safety of these activities. You will lead a high performing, multi-site team, ensuring their continued training and development, setting standards and new procedures to deliver an exceptional service to all exhibition teams, internal and external. You will travel internationally representing SMG and building strong and sustained partnerships through best practice.
Joining us, you will have extensive experience of managing exhibitions and tours in the museums and galleries sector, along with a good understanding of how to manage health and safety for exhibition installations. You will have a background in managing profitable portfolios of exhibitions and will have experience of collaborating with international museums or galleries. As Group Head of Exhibition Services, you will be able to manage diverse teams across multiple locations and working remotely, and will have experience of budgetary management for projects or programmes of circa £2million.
