Goethe-Institut Halaqat Residency Hosts Open Call
Location: Jordan, Lebanon, and Morocco

The Goethe-Institut’s Halaqat project invites legal entities based in Jordan, Lebanon, or Morocco to apply for funding to host artistic residencies. This initiative aims to foster gender-inclusive environments that promote creative exploration, cultural exchange, and capacity building, with a focus on themes of care and gender equity.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be legal entities (e.g., registered organizations, non-profits, foundations, collectives) based in Jordan, Lebanon, or Morocco.
- Active involvement in at least one artistic sector.
- Demonstrated capacity to host residencies, including providing suitable workspaces, accommodation, and professional mentoring.
- Prior experience in managing at least two residency projects.
Residency Options:
- 6-Week Residency: Funding of €4,500 to host three artists.
- 3-Month Residency: Funding of €9,000 to host three artists.
- Applicants may apply for both durations but must submit separate applications for each.
Funding Coverage:
- Accommodation (in-house or rented)
- Suitable workspaces and necessary facilities
- Professional mentoring and on-site support staff
Application Process:
- Prepare a residency concept outlining potential artistic activities, collaboration initiatives, and public engagement plans.
- Provide proof of legal status and hosting capacity, including descriptions of facilities and past residency experiences
- Submit the application through the Goethe-Application Portal (GAP) by March 10, 2025, 11:59 AM CET.
Selection Criteria:
- Relevance of the residency concept to Halaqat’s thematic focus on care and gender equity
- Quality and feasibility of the proposed residency project.
- Potential long-term impact and sustainability.
- Organizational capacity and experience in hosting residencies.
