About Istituto Svizzero
Located in Rome, Milan, and Palermo, Istituto Svizzero is an interdisciplinary platform. It connects artistic and scientific research and strengthens ties between Switzerland, Italy, and internationally. The institute offers residency programs for emerging artists and researchers in visual and performing arts, literature, architecture, and various sciences. Senior Fellowships are available for established artists and academics. These fellowships encourage cross-disciplinary and intergenerational discussions at Villa Maraini in Rome. Since 1947, Istituto Svizzero has led global discussions on art, science, and society. It hosts virtual and physical events, exhibitions, conferences, concerts, performances, workshops, and Summer Schools.
Responsibilities of the Head Curator
- Provide curatorial leadership in contemporary art.
- Organize international exhibitions and events.
- Experience in artistic publications.
- Engage in transdisciplinary projects.
- Fundraise for artistic events.
- Maintain a network in the Swiss and Italian contemporary art scenes.
- Understand the Swiss, Italian, and international art/cultural landscapes.
- Exhibit strong relational and communication skills.
- Fluency in English, Italian, and another national language.
- Manage budgets and organize artistic events.
- Work effectively in a team and interdisciplinary environment.
Contract Details
- Fixed-term contract for three years, with possible 1 or 2-year renewal.
- Start date: January 2025 (negotiable).
- Location: Rome.
