Location: Somerset House, London, including remote work options
Duration: Permanent position with a six-month probationary period
Salary: Approximately £65,000 per annum

JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Head of Arts
Futurecity is looking for a Head of Arts to direct its expanding Arts Department. This senior management role involves overseeing significant art projects in the public domain and formulating public art strategies for both UK and international clients. The successful candidate will manage the Arts team, engage in business development, and plan projects across a rich portfolio of art commissions and strategic projects. The role requires an entrepreneurial spirit, a collaborative approach, and a background in the contemporary arts sector.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all public arts projects to ensure timely and budget-friendly execution.
- Provide guidance, management, and mentorship to the Arts team.
- Develop and maintain relationships with artists, galleries, and cultural organizations.
- Prepare and oversee arts scopes/proposals for new business initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with the Business Manager and CEO to foster new business opportunities and assist in preparing bids and RFP proposals.
- Account for the pricing and financial structuring of project bids and tenders as required.
Essential Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in a similar role within the arts sector, particularly in public art commissioning.
- Strong managerial skills and a passion for placemaking and the arts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and influential abilities.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and Illustrator.
- Experience and enthusiasm for international projects.
