Head of Collections Development
Deadline: October 4, 2015
Tate facilitates extraordinary experiences through an inspiring programme of exhibitions and events at their four galleries: Tate Britain, Tate Modern, Tate Liverpool and Tate St Ives. Working closely with arts organisations nationally and internationally, Tate’s core mission is to promote the public understanding and enjoyment of British, modern and contemporary art.
Working at Tate is exciting, sometimes challenging, and always rewarding. The highly committed teams build programmes, services, resources and products on foundations of openness, respect and diversity. The Tate Development team has expanded over the years to meet growing gallery needs and is now one of the most successful arts fundraising teams in the UK.
The Head of Collection Development is responsible for raising funds to build Tate’s collection through major lifetime donations of cash and art gifts. To be successful in this role you will have the credibility and influence to motivate and lead others, as well as a personal track record in fundraising or donor development to secure significant gifts of £50,000 or more. You have experience of maintaining an outstanding level of donor stewardship, and are adept at developing a robust network of contacts. Your excellent writing skills will enable you to write a compelling case for support which you will have the confidence to deliver orally.
