The V&A is seeking a dynamic, inspirational and highly motivated Head of Design to join the Design, Exhibitions, FuturePlan (Capital Projects) and Estates Division. A key objective of this post will be supporting the Director of Design, Exhibitions and FuturePlan in the delivery of the V&A public exhibitions programme and FuturePlan, presenting visitor facilities and galleries in such a way that the widest possible audience can enjoy and experience the museum and its collections.

The Head of Design will be responsible for ensuring that there is a consistent and coherent approach to design within the museum and to information provided for the public. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and articulate advocate of design, leading the development of a high quality approach to design throughout the Museum.

The post holder will be responsible for the management and leadership of the Museum’s in-house 2D and 3D design team. They will also commission work from external consultants, ensuring best match of resources to needs. They will work closely with the Director of Design, Exhibitions and FuturePlan to ensure that the individual projects are properly resourced, co-ordinated and communicated to all stakeholders, meet V&A design, conservation and access strategies, and are delivered to the highest standards, on time and within budget.
