Founded in 2009 in London, The Mosaic Rooms is a premier arts venue that champions contemporary culture from the Arab world. It offers a range of artist-led, participant-centered programs, including exhibitions, live events, and creative learning projects. The Mosaic Rooms will transition to an independent charity in 2024, making this an exciting time to join the team.
The Role
Location: The Mosaic Rooms, 226 Cromwell Road, London SW5 0SW
Salary: £40,000-£43,000
Hours: 9:00-17:00, Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends
Holidays: 21 days per annum plus Bank Holidays
Start Date: ASAP
As the Head of Development & Operations, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the gallery’s sustainability. You’ll be involved in fundraising, financial management, governance, and day-to-day operations. This role requires flexibility, collaborative problem-solving, and a commitment to inclusivity, equity, and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver fundraising strategies.
- Manage funding applications, budget preparations, and financial reporting.
- Oversee relationships with funders, including Arts Council England.
- Ensure accurate financial records and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Handle general management duties, ensuring efficient operation and compliance with relevant policies.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Over five years of relevant experience in the arts sector.
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing organizational change.
- Strong commitment to equality, cultural diversity, and safeguarding.
- Excellent financial management and strategic planning abilities.
- Successful fundraising track record and effective stakeholder negotiation skills.
Desirable Qualities
- Knowledge of national and international arts organizations.
- Direct experience with artists, producers, writers, and curators.
- Audience development expertise in the arts.
- Public speaking skills and comfort with public representation.
- Proficiency in spoken Arabic is a plus.
