Head of Education

The Head of Education will lead the South London Gallery’s Education Team and develop the strategy for education in the gallery, in the local community and online, reaching existing and new audiences. The post holder will devise and deliver an education programme which drives engagement with the SLG’s exhibition and events for a wide-ranging public, including children & families, schools, community groups, and young people.

The Head of Education will contribute to attracting visitor figures in excess of 140,000 per annum, specifically to create new diverse audiences for contemporary art in the area, through a varied programme of outreach and in-gallery experiences.

The post holder will manage a team of education staff, as well as casual assistants and freelance artists. They will be a key member of the gallery’s management team responsible for delivering the gallery’s mission and performance targets and for contributing to strategic planning, organisational management, and overall development of the South London Gallery.
