El Moderno is looking for a proactive person:

·       With the initiative to empower ideas by challenging your team to research, train with collaborative leadership that will build, strengthen and improve relationships inside and outside the museum, forging alliances to improve and expand the experience and participation of the different audiences of the museum and its exhibitions stimulating learning and promoting social discourse.
·       With in-depth knowledge and experience in innovative pedagogical approaches to continuous learning and current educational trends, including participatory and digital learning.
·       with great flexibility to overcome obstacles and resource constraints.
·       With solid communication and presentation skills and with the commitment to promote good practices on issues of diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion.
·       with the desire to strengthen the link between art and education.
Academic competencies
Possess a university degree or bachelor’s degree in careers related to social sciences (Education Sciences or Sociology and related) or teaching degree
Experience in cultural institutions (not exclusive)
Office package management, and digital presentation and collaborative work tools
Fluent in oral and written English
Knowledge of art history (not exclusive)
Main responsibilities of the Head of Education:
·       Work closely with the Management team of the Moderno reporting to the Director of the museum.
·       Work closely with other department heads to ensure that the visitor experience linked to the exhibitions and content developed and communicated by the museum is valuable.
·       Lead the Department of Education to broaden and deepen the impact and reach of Moderno on innovation in museum education.
·       Lead and oversee the task of designing a programming strategy and educational experiences aligned with Moderno’s global mission and act as a leader in the link between the public and art with a view to achieving equitable access and meaningful participation of new visitors.
·       Oversee the day-to-day function of the Department of Education, including its structure, policies and procedures, and ensure the implementation of statistics, metrics and analysis to assess their impact.
·       Oversee the analysis, preparation and management of the Education budget to ensure its alignment with the department’s initiatives and the execution of its programming and contractual commitments.
·       Facilitate the visible, effective, consistent and continuous participation of the department in issues related to culture, strengthening alliances with strategic partners of the museum and local, national and international organizations.
