Artium Museoa is Seeking a Head of Education

Reporting to the Chief Curator and the Directorate, the Head of Education shall propose, design, produce, and successfully deliver the educational programming of Artium Museoa in accordance with the museum’s strategic objectives.
Among their functions is strengthening the Museum’s role as a space for training and learning through the development of innovative training projects and programs, and establishing collaborative networks with institutions and entities for the development of projects adapted to diverse pedagogical fields.
Thus, they will be responsible for the design and management of Artium Museoa’s educational programs, in order to facilitate the incorporation of new methodologies in the development of the institution’s lines of work. They will also be responsible for pedagogical content published in various physical and digital formats, always working in coordination with those responsible for the museum’s programs. Likewise, they will manage the general coordination of the Museum’s grant and internship programs.
To this end, they must configure and coordinate cross-functional teams for the development of the proposed programs and manage the allocated budget. They will also be responsible for developing specific programs aimed at the museum’s audiences, which will be developed in collaboration with the museum’s content areas.
The selected person must have extensive knowledge of contemporary art and education in museums and/or cultural institutions. Similarly, they must have experience in the design, development, and management of educational programs in museums and/or cultural institutions.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Licentiate degree in Fine Arts, Art History, or Humanities.
- Further education (Master’s, Doctorates, Postgraduate Courses) related to Art History and/or pedagogy in cultural institutions will be valued.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the development and management of educational programs in cultural entities.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of educational programs.
- Experience in supervision, resource planning, and budget management.
- Pedagogical skills, organizational ability, teamwork, project planning and management skills.
- Proficiency in Basque, level C1.
- Knowledge of other languages, especially English and French, will be valued.
