Position Overview
Fubon Art Museum is seeking an experienced and highly organized Head of Exhibitions to lead the planning and delivery of the Museum’s exhibition programme.
The successful candidate will oversee major domestic and international exhibition projects from initial planning through installation, public presentation, and deinstallation. Working closely with artists, curators, lenders, museums, and internal teams, the Head of Exhibitions will ensure that exhibitions are delivered to the highest professional standards, on schedule, and within budget.
This position will also lead and develop the Exhibitions team, establish effective project management processes, and play a key role in strengthening the Museum’s exhibition practices and international collaborations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and delivery of domestic and international exhibitions, overseeing schedules, budgets, staffing, risks, and cross-departmental coordination.
- Serve as a key liaison with artists, curators, collectors, lenders, museums, galleries, and international partner institutions.
- Manage exhibition agreements and documentation, including loans, partnerships, rights and reproductions, insurance, and related administrative requirements.
- Oversee artwork logistics and exhibition production, including packing, international transportation, customs, installation and deinstallation, gallery preparation, lighting, display systems, and environmental requirements.
- Coordinate the production and review of exhibition texts, labels, catalogues, interpretive materials, and communications assets.
- Ensure exhibitions are delivered to high professional standards, addressing artwork safety, technical issues, and other operational matters throughout the exhibition process.
- Lead and develop the Exhibitions team, establishing effective workflows and exhibition standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Museum Studies, Arts Administration, Art History, Cultural Heritage, Curatorial Studies, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in a museum, gallery, cultural institution, or major exhibition environment.
- Strong exhibition and project management experience, with demonstrated team leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience working with international museums, lenders, or cultural institutions; experience with international loans or major special exhibitions is highly desirable.
- Sound knowledge of museum standards and practices related to artwork handling, preventive conservation, and exhibition environments.
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally and to work occasional evenings and weekends, particularly during exhibition installation and deinstallation periods.
Language Requirements
- Mandarin Chinese: Professional proficiency in spoken Mandarin and written Chinese.
- English: Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.

- Compensation: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
