Location: London
Salary: £45,000.00 – £50,000.00 Per Annum

Purpose of the Job
The post-holder will lead the team, positioning the ICA as a centre of excellence and innovation for learning and critical engagement in the arts, while ensuring the programme engages new and existing audiences and achieves the ICA’s diversity and financial targets. They will report directly to the Director and line manage the Curator of Learning, Bookstore Manager and Curator of Talks and Research (Public Programme and Participation Team).
- A demonstrable track record of producing high-quality learning and talks programmes in the cultural sector.
- Considerable experience of organising and managing education projects including providing activities for a wide range of groups, such as, schools, young people, families and community groups.
- Experience of initiating and developing successful and sustainable partnerships and collaborations.
- Excellent knowledge of current best practice in arts education.
- Excellent knowledge of safeguarding best practice.
- Understanding of the structures, priorities and key issues for the formal education sectors including schools, FE, and HE.
- Excellent knowledge of access issues and best practice in promoting access to the arts.
- Proven team leadership and management skills within an organisational context.
- Proven experience of working within complex venues and/or cultural production sites.
- An ability to inspire and motivate academic and creative team members.
- Proven experience of managing annual budgets in excess of £250,000.
- Excellent networking skills, with both advocacy and awareness of fundraising requirements.
- Experience of artist management and contractual negotiations.
- Experience of working with curators, artists, academics and creative directors.
- High levels of articulacy, communication skills and political and cultural sensitivity.
- Proven creative-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to engage strategically while paying keen attention to detail.
- A passion for the ICA, its history and its importance within today’s cultural landscape, both nationally and internationally.
