Head of Photographs Collection – National Portrait Gallery

The National Portrait Gallery houses a unique collection of all forms of portraiture of the people who have made or who are currently contributing to British history and culture. With more than 2 million visitors last year, the Gallery is one of the country’s most important and popular galleries
The photographic collections are of central importance to the Gallery’s success and past photographic exhibitions have highlighted the work of both single photographers and themed exhibitions. The Head of the Photographs Collection will be responsible for all of the photographic collections and will lead displays and exhibitions programme for this important area of the Gallery’s work.
You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent academic qualifications or equivalent experience, and significant relevant experience gained within a museum or gallery, along with strong experience of project, staff and budget management.
