The Head of Programme will lead on the curation and preparation of all audience facing activity playing a key part in communicating Encounters’ vision and ambition whilst supporting new and emerging talent reach new audiences.

Who we are looking for?

The Head of Programme will form a key part of a small team of staff who welcome and celebrate individuality creating a rewarding environment for personal and professional development.

They will lead on the curation and preparation of all audience facing activity confidently communicating their vision for moving image exhibition and discovery of new and emerging talent. By embracing innovation, they will demonstrate their openness to new ideas and imaginations that are prevalent within the short form.

What you need to bring to the table

  • A keen awareness of the British and international film scene and the wider arts sector
  • A passion for delivering events of the highest quality
  • A demonstrable commitment to the principles of diversity and inclusion and their practical application and integration into work practices
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in curation of the arts or as a practitioner.
  • A high level of organisational skills and forensic attention to detail with the proven ability to meet deadlines and targets while working in a busy environment
  • Adaptability and willingness to respond to an evolving workflow
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to deal effectively with people at all levels
  • Ability to develop and maintain good collegiate working relationships with colleagues, contacts, partners, and stakeholders
  • A commitment to continuing personal and professional development
  • Willingness to learn new applications and technology as appropriate
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and prioritise intensely varying workloads
  • Ability to represent Encounters professionally and with confidence locally, nationally, and internationally
