Office for Contemporary Art Norway (OCA) is seeking an experienced Head of Programme to play a pivotal role in leading OCA’s public programme, maintaining the organization’s position as a prominent contemporary arts institution, and identifying new opportunities for development.
Responsibilities
As the Head of Programme, you will be responsible for OCA’s public programme, publications, and events. You will also strengthen collaborations with new and established artists and curators. Your goal is to promote idea-exchanging and contribute to the development of knowledge and practices within contemporary art. You will work with external institutions, organizations, curators, and other art professionals. You will maintain strong collaborations and partnerships with stakeholders who contribute to OCA’s position and international network. For OCA’s participation at the Venice Biennale, you will work closely with the selected curators and artists. You will take overall responsibility for the smooth implementation of the commissioned project.
Qualifications
OCA is looking for a candidate with relevant education and extensive experience in art and culture. A strong candidate can demonstrate a proven competence and track record of building strong international networks and establishing collaborations with artists and curators. Experience in curating and an interest in new technology, digital platforms, and a curiosity about speculative futures is advantageous. The candidate should also have an interest in fostering networks and community building.
