Based on the King’s Road in Chelsea, the Saatchi Gallery is a Gallery dedicated to the promotion and showcasing of contemporary art. The Gallery is looking for a Head of Retail to join the senior management team at the Gallery.
The position is full-time working 40 hours per week across five days out of seven. We are looking for a candidate with strong retail experience who is capable of delivering an ambitious retail strategy across on-site retail, online retail and the programme of artwork sales.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Devise and execute a strategy to optimise revenue generation across the main retail activities
- Oversee all product selection & buying, including any development of new product lines.
- Oversee all marketing and promotional activities.
- Maintain an efficient & effective operation to high standards.
- Oversee all recruitment & development of staff in the department.
- Deliver against revenue, margin and profit targets.
- Create a dynamic and unique retail proposition that is valued by our audiences – in the UK and internationally.
- Analyse and report to the Director and trustees on retail performance.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Evidence of successfully managing retail operations.
- A track record of managing a team to yield positive results.
- Reliable, responsible and trustworthy.
- Punctual and excellent time management skills.
- Professional and smart appearance.
- Proven ability to work effectively on own initiative and as part of a team.
- The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good IT skills
- Positive and flexible approach to work.
