Forge Project, a Native-led organization focused on Indigenous leadership in arts and culture, announces the 2024 fellowship application open call. This funded program supports Indigenous cultural workers in various mediums and expertise areas.

The fellowship includes six Indigenous individuals showcasing diverse cultural practices and research. It emphasizes honoring Indigenous pasts and building Native futures. Two fellowships specifically recognize members and descendants of the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohican Indians. Each fellow receives $25,000 and access to Forge Project’s site, libraries, and Indigenous artists’ collection for up to three weeks.
Location and Facilities
Located in the ancestral lands of the Moh-He-Con-Nuck, Forge features a 38-acre campus in the Mahhicannituck valley. Facilities include two structures designed by Ai Weiwei and HHF Architects, offering spaces for public programming, art galleries, and living/studio space for fellows.

Fellows can present their work locally and internationally, including social media exposure. They also get one-on-one time with the Director of Indigenous Programs, Sarah Biscarra Dilley, and the Public and Community Programs Coordinator, Robbie Wing, for mentorship and networking.
Selection Jury
The General Fellowship applications are reviewed by five Native jurists. The Stockbridge-Munsee Community Fellows are reviewed by three jurists, including a community member and former fellow.
