International Curatorial Studio in Berlin

The International Curatorial Studio programme is a platform envisioned to address questions of social, political and cultural relevance. We will discuss with the participants how an impact through new forms of meaning production as curatorial means could be achieved. Topics covered include changing ideas about art theories and current institutional practices, the status of the curator as an author, or team player, or critical instigator and educator. We will discuss the different perceptions about the socio-political role of the curator, the identity of the curatorial practice as an academic discipline open to renovation.
PARTICIPANTS
Post-graduate students with professional experience in curatorial or art practice.
Curators, Cultural Manager, Art Administrators, people with a background in Art, Design, Education, Art History, Science History, Visual Culture, Museology or Publishing.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
The participants will discuss and develop projects, get a lot of inspiring input and will get to know the Berlin art scene through site visits and talks.
CONTENT
Presentations, talks, site visits, meetings, conversations, reading, discussing, networking, with a variety of professionals.

The program fee is 650,- Euro. Participants are also responsible for covering travel and accommodation expenses.
