About the Centre
The Research and Documentation Centre stems from Artium Museoa’s dedication to art’s history and present, emphasizing the inclusion of more women artists and feminist theorists. The Centre aims to collect, preserve, and share documentation on Basque women artists and those linked to the museum, promoting research in feminist artistic practice and thought.
Legacy of Juncal Ballestín
Named after the committed feminist artist Juncal Ballestín (1953-2015), this grant honors her diverse artistic contributions, from painting to video art. In 2021, Artium Museoa received a donation of Ballestín’s work and archive, leading to the creation of this grant to commemorate her legacy.
