Overview
The Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen, Düsseldorf, seeks a dedicated intern for a three-month period, starting as soon as possible. The intern will gain valuable experience in exhibition conception, organization, loan traffic/transportation, art education, and press and public relations in a contemporary art institution.
About Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen
Founded in 1829, the Kunstverein focuses on promoting emerging artists, particularly through their first institutional solo exhibitions. It engages with contemporary art trends through thematic group exhibitions, supported by talks, screenings, and artist conversations. The Kunstverein has been located in the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf at Grabbeplatz since 1967.
Internship Details
The intern will gain insights into various activities, including:
- Exhibition conception and organization
- Loan traffic and international transport
- Press and public relations
- Art education
- General administrative tasks
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a student in art history, art education, art sciences, cultural sciences, or a related field, advanced in their studies, and interested in contemporary art. The candidate should be motivated, enjoy working in a small, young team, and willing to take on responsibilities. The internship is aimed at students required to complete a mandatory internship as part of their studies. This is a paid internship.
