The Fondation Beyeler is one of the internationally renowned and most visited museums in Switzerland. The museum building by Renzo Piano, located in an idyllic park in Riehen near Basel, is considered one of the most beautiful art houses in Europe, as it harmoniously combines nature, architecture and art. The Fondation Beyeler houses one of the world’s best private collections and continuously presents high-quality exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. In accordance with the wishes of its founders, it is particularly committed to communicating art to the general public and to young people.

As of July 1, 2022 or by agreement for a limited period of two years, with the option of permanent employment, we will fill a position

The traineeship includes assisting the head of publications in the production of exhibition catalogues, accompanying publications and scientific publications.

Your tasks
– Editing: Cooperation with the publisher, the curators, authors, translators, editors, graphic designers, etc.
– Scientific editing and research together with the supervisor and the external editor: Editing the texts according to content, orthographic, grammatical and stylistic aspects incl. Checking of work information and footnotes
– Photo editing: Research and procurement of the image material, timely cooperation with internal departments such as PR and CC departments
– Various administrative work

Your profile
– Completed studies in art history or a related subject, interest in modern and contemporary art
– First experience in proofreading/editing an advantage
– Stylistically confident and error-free German, very good knowledge of English and French, both written and spoken
– Good user knowledge of common Office programs and databases
– independent, careful, structured and concentrated way of working
– resilience, flexibility, organizational skills, very good teamwork and communication
skills – ability to work under time and deadline pressure
