Advancement & Communications Intern Opportunity
The Advancement & Communications team at First Peoples Fund invites aspiring individuals to join us as an Advancement & Communications Intern. This role offers a chance to explore and contribute to the dynamic fields of communications and development. You’ll be involved in marketing tasks, content creation, photo archive management, and supporting our development initiatives.
Role Details
- Type: Part-time, temporary
- Hours: 15 hours per week
- Pay: $15 per hour
- Duration: August 21, 2023 – December 8, 2023
- Location: Remote
Duties and Responsibilities
As an intern, your responsibilities will include:
- Writing various communications, including letters, newsletters, social media posts, web content, invitations, and reports.
- Producing collateral materials as directed.
- Updating media contact lists.
- Generating fresh ideas for web and social media content.
- Assisting in the planning and execution of special events.
- Attending and supporting First Peoples Fund events as needed.
- Conducting research for future projects and events.

- Insight into local, regional, and national networks relevant to our work.
- Enhanced file management skills for electronic documents.
- Proficiency in writing, editing, and tracking internal and external communications.
- Familiarity with media tracking (traditional and social).
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled students at the Institute of American Indian Arts (2nd through 4th-year students) are eligible for this internship.
- Open to all majors, with preference for those in Museum Studies, Indigenous Liberal Arts, Fine Arts, Business, and/or Design.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to complete tasks punctually and collaborate effectively in a team.
- Willingness to both learn from and contribute to the First Peoples Fund organization.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
