The Junior CONSERVATOR GoGreen will contribute to developing and implementing new sustainable methods in the Conservation & Science department at the Rijksmuseum. The role involves testing, evaluating, and implementing sustainable methods and materials for conservation.
Responsibilities
- Conducting research and experiments in sustainable conservation methods, materials, and strategies
- Implementing new materials and methods to make the workplace more sustainable
- Sharing research results with GoGREEN partners, Rijksmuseum colleagues, the public, and peers
Qualifications
- MSc in conservation or natural sciences
- Practical experience in restoration
- Knowledge of and experience with analytical research
- Proficiency in both spoken and written Dutch and English
Working at the Rijksmuseum
The Rijksmuseum is an internationally-oriented museum, and the Junior CONSERVATOR GoGreen will be part of a diverse Conservation & Science team that preserves and researches the museum’s vast collection. The Science sub-department collaborates closely with restorers and conservators to examine objects using innovative methods and techniques in a laboratory equipped with applications such as ultraviolet, infrared, and X-ray.
Benefits
- Gross monthly salary ranging from €3,468.00 to €4,506.00 based on 36 hours (scale 10 of the museum’s collective labor agreement)
- 8% holiday allowance and a 3.4% year-end bonus
- Contract for 1 year with the possibility of extension up to a maximum of 3 years
- Flexibility to alternate between working from home and the office
- Full reimbursement of public transportation costs starting from 5 km (up to a maximum of €345)
