Overview of the position
This is an excellent career opportunity to play a key role in MCA Australia’s Engagement Team and to contribute to achieving the MCA’s vision to be the leading platform for contemporary art and ideas, in Australia and beyond.
The successful candidate will join our dynamic team to lead the development and implementation of Public Programs and Events that engage diverse audiences with the art and ideas of our time.
The successful candidate will be well-versed in current art engagement programming practices, in Australia and globally, and passionate about engaging broad diverse publics with contemporary art. They will bring a strong track record of producing outstanding audience engagement programs and experience of leading teams to meet strategic goals. They will bring in-depth knowledge of the Australian arts scene and excellent networks to this role and will confidently engage internal and external partners and collaborators.
The successful applicant will be a dynamic thinker and a team player. They will bring ideas and cognitive flexibility and the ability to build on the MCA’s record of success with public programs and events such its recently relaunched Art Bar and to work collaboratively with the MCA’s engagement and curatorial teams to shape new programs that invite participation across generations and communities.
Reporting lines
The Lead Program Producer reports to the Public Engagement Manager and has one direct report. In addition, the role oversees program implementation and delivery, and budget management of two Producers.
