Learning Curator – Adult Programmes
Deadline: September 16, 2016
Help us launch the new Tate St Ives in this key education role.
Tate St Ives displays British and international modern and contemporary art connected to the thriving Cornish town and runs the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden.
You’ll play a vital role in helping us to develop and deliver the learning and wider programme offer for the new Tate St Ives. With the reopening of the gallery and the new Learning Suite in March 2017 and the main launch of the new Tate St Ives in the autumn of that year, we are looking for a dynamic learning professional who is committed to supporting broad audiences in engaging with modern and contemporary art.
Working as part of the Programme team, you will take particular responsibility for the planning and delivery of the general public adult learning programme in the new Tate St Ives, as well as work collaboratively to develop the visitor support and interpretative materials for exhibitions and displays for the gallery and the Barbara Hepworth Museum. You will also support our Professional Register of artists and freelancers, who activate the programme.
An experienced learning professional, able to take the lead in your area, you will bring experience of managing educational or cultural programmes in an education, art gallery, or museum setting, or non-gallery environment. Your expertise in an area of modern or contemporary British or international art and culture will be supported by a degree in art, education, or equivalent knowledge and thinking ability gained through experience. Skilled in designing research projects, you will bring knowledge of relevant undergraduate and postgraduate courses and research in arts and education fields.
