The primary function of this role is to establish a fully integrated and dynamic learning programme, working with your fellow learning curator and the full programme team, and take prime responsibility for developing and managing our new Community programme, and our Courses programme for adults and children. The Community programme is aimed at increasing local engagement with the Centre, supporting lifelong learning and wellbeing, and fostering creativity, working with a range artists to develop exciting, innovative and accessible projects. It encompasses work with older people, families, intergenerational, and will involve building partnerships and fruitful working relationships with local organisations and groups and local government departments, as well as underserved individuals, particularly in relation to disability, mental health, ethnic diversity, English as an additional language, and socio-economic disadvantage.
The role also has a focus on income generation, through our popular courses programme, and with plans to maximise income through hires of our studio spaces. It involves engagement with HE groups, including supporting visits, and collaborating with the Residencies Curator and Public Programme Curator for cross over opportunities.
The person we are looking for is: talented at building, nurturing and supporting relationships with artists, communities and external bodies; they are an energised and committed individual who bring their own ideas and experience and also enjoy working collaboratively, and have an excellent attention to detail.
