Be part of the dedicated Visitor and Member Experience (VME) team at the leading Museum of 20th and 21st Century American Art.
Role Overview
As a Manager in the VME team, you will be responsible for maintaining operational integrity, ensuring efficiency in admissions, ticketing, coat check, and wayfinding. Your focus is to create a positive visitor experience. This position is integral to the integrated management team, working with Visitor and Gallery Assistants, Visitor and Member Assistants, and volunteers.
Responsibilities
- Advocate for developing audiences and enhancing audience experience while meeting revenue goals.
- Ensure excellent and consistent service across all visitor and member interactions.
- Collaborate with staff to align operations with museum policies and overall goals.
- Work closely with institution colleagues for a customer service approach in exhibition, program, and performance planning.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in retail, sales, or customer service.
- 5–7 years of public-facing customer service experience.
- Proficiency in staff scheduling and payroll for large teams.
- Genuine interest in public-facing customer service interactions.
- Professional communication skills by phone, email, and in-person.
- Sound judgment, proven problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Previous experience in constituent database and POS systems; familiarity with Raiser’s Edge preferred.
- Interest in art and non-profit management is a plus.
Working Conditions
- Full-time schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, with evenings and holidays often required.
- Compensation: Fixed at $72,000 per annum.
