Tate’s vision is to serve as artistically adventurous and culturally inclusive art museums for the UK and the world. We deliver this through activities in our four galleries across the UK (Tate Liverpool, Tate St Ives, Tate Britain and Tate Modern), our digital platforms, and collaborations with our national and international partners. At the heart of Tate is our collection of art, which includes British art from the 16th century to the present day, and international modern art from 1900 to the present day.
We now seek a Managing Director (MD) to help us achieve our vision. Reporting to our Director, Dr Maria Balshaw, the MD will lead the implementation of our strategic vision and its operational delivery across the whole of Tate, including business development, institutional change and optimising work across the matrix organisation that Tate is as we emerge from the challenges presented by the pandemic. You will bring a proven track record of emotionally intelligent leadership, successful change management and delivery in senior leadership roles, alongside entrepreneurial flair, sound financial and planning skills, and customer-facing and digital experience. You will have a commitment to and empathy for the art in Tate’s collection. You will inspire our talented staff and peers to work together across a broad range of functions and demonstrate your personal commitment to supporting Tate’s diversity objectives in creating a positive and inclusive working environment.
The closing date for applications is midday (BST) on Sunday 12th June 2022.
