Deadline: 18 January 2026
Contract: March–October 2026, compact training phase March–June 2026
Work Format: Full-time during biennial programme; part-time during training

Manifesta 16 Ruhr, the European Nomadic Biennial, will transform former churches across the Ruhr Area into spaces for dialogue and community in 2026. We are looking for a diverse team of Mediators who are excited to co-create new approaches to cultural mediation in close dialogue with the social, historical and political contexts of the Ruhr Area.
As part of the team, you will develop and facilitate tours, workshops and other dialogue-based formats. During the biennial you will work across several locations in Bochum, Duisburg, Essen and Gelsenkirchen, becoming part of an open, international and dynamic environment. From March to June 2026 you will take part in a compact training phase, including four intensive weekends, during which you will carry out individual research and develop your own mediation approach. You will then accompany the mediation programme throughout the biennial until October 2026.
Are you curious about the cultural and urban landscape of the Ruhr Area, experienced in working with diverse groups and enthusiastic about co-creative processes? Then this opportunity is for you!
Excellent German and good English skills are required; additional languages are welcome.
Apply by 18th of January 2026 with a letter of motivation and CV (in English) to:
