Guild Hall, East Hampton, NY
Reports to: Museum Director, Curator of Visual Arts
Work Schedule: 3 days per week
Compensation: $33 per hour / $36,000 per year (non-exempt)
The MCCA will manage and coordinate Guild Hall’s exhibitions and special projects, working closely with the Museum Director, Curator of Visual Arts, Museum Manager, and Registrar. Responsibilities include coordinating exhibition schedules, managing exhibition-related budgets, assisting with research, generating contracts, updating website and public calendars, and managing exhibition-related logistics such as artist travel and installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multi-year exhibition schedules and assist with research and checklist development.
- Coordinate loan form processes and oversee exhibition design and installation.
- Manage exhibition budgets, tracking expenditures and processing invoices.
- Develop interpretive texts, wall labels, and publications in collaboration with the Museum Director.
- Coordinate with artists, galleries, and internal departments for exhibitions and events.
- Maintain exhibition files and artist fee schedules.
- Organize special museum projects and assist with pop-up shops and offsite programs.
Qualifications:
- BA or MA in art history, museum studies, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in an art museum or gallery environment.
- Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills.
- Experience with art handling, collections care, and working with artists.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Adobe Creative Suite and collection management software (e.g., Argus) preferred.
- CAD or SketchUp proficiency preferred.
