The Zeitz MOCAA & University of the Western Cape (UWC) Museum Fellowship Programme is a 12-month, full-time opportunity designed to support emerging African museum professionals and curators through a combination of academic study and practical museum experience. Running from February 2027 to January 2028, the programme focuses on developing curatorial, research, and critical writing skills within the context of contemporary African art and heritage.
Fellowship Format
- Duration: 12 months (Feb 2027 – Jan 2028)
- Full-time programme combining academic and institutional training
- Based in Cape Town at Zeitz MOCAA and UWC
Eligibility Criteria
- Citizenship of an African country
- Bachelor’s degree in art, heritage, museum studies, or related humanities field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–3 years of relevant work experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary African art and heritage
- Strong writing and public speaking skills
- Proficiency in English
