Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in art history (M.A. preferred) or 2–3 years of museum or cultural organization experience
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, writing, research, and computer skills
  • Detail-oriented work style, good communication and multitasking abilities, flexibility, team spirit
  • Ability to assist with periodic public programs and events outside of regular office hours
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, as well as with TMS and other database, administrative, and management programs

Additional qualifications:

  • Curatorial studies experience
  • Knowledge of feminist art and artists

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Senior Curator and Associate Curator to oversee and facilitate administrative aspects of the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art
  • Assist with exhibitions logistics and administrative duties pertaining to collections management, staff support, and the Council for Feminist Art (CFA)
  • Assist in preparing for upcoming exhibitions and exhibitions being developed over a longer timeline
  • Organize and process information on artists and artworks
  • Process and facilitate paperwork for outgoing and incoming loans and for acquisitions, both for exhibitions and regarding the EASCFA collection and its maintenance
  • Liase with relevant members of our staff as well as artists, lenders, employees at outside organizations, and publication contributors
  • Create checklist documents and prepare PowerPoint presentations for lectures and meetings in- and out-of-house
  • Solicit applications for, facilitate interviews with, and supervise all department interns
  • Assist with general EASCFA correspondence, including email, phone, and mail; includes preparation and scheduling for travel, meetings, lectures, and studio visits
  • Implement and administer the department’s contacts database
  • Track and organize electronic and hardcopy files
  • Track the departmental budget and process credit card reconciliations
  • Other tasks, as assigned

Reports to: Senior Curator and Associate Curator, EASCFA

Union status: Union

FLSA status: Non-exempt

Salary: $37,077

Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm
