NCA Cultural Crossroads Residency Program

Introduction

The Henrik Igityan National Centre for Aesthetics (NCA) is looking for independent artists and art organization representatives from Iran, Georgia, Italy, Switzerland, and France. They are invited to submit proposals for the “NCA Cultural Crossroads: Artist Residency Program.” This program, supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of the Republic of Armenia, aims to promote cultural heritage exchange and foster intercultural relationships.

Program Goals

The goal is to enable artists to share their work, skills, and knowledge, thereby strengthening cultural ties and creating new partnerships. It offers a platform for artists to engage with both international and local communities, exploring cultural similarities and differences.

Residency Details

The residency takes place in Yerevan and various Armenian regions, including Tavush, Shirak, Lori, Gegharkunik, and Syunik. It spans 18 days, with time allocated both in the capital and regional areas. This allows artists to immerse themselves in Armenian culture and interact with local communities.

Project Scope and Eligibility

Projects should align with art disciplines like fine arts, theatre, dance, or music, catering to various age groups. Applicants must be established artists or art organization representatives with over 10 years of experience and proficient in English.

Financial Support and Application Process

The NCA covers travel, accommodation, and related expenses, with additional funds for project materials. Interested applicants should submit their proposals, CVs, portfolios, and budget estimates by March 15, 2024.

Selection Criteria

A committee of Armenian arts and culture professionals will select one project per country based on clarity, feasibility, cultural representation, and educational value.

Timeline

The application period is from February 15 to March 15, 2024. Selected projects will be announced by April 1, 2024, with the residency running from May 31 to June 17, 2024.
