Overview
The University of Gothenburg’s Artistic Faculty invites proposals for the 6th PARSE Biennial Conference, scheduled for November 12–14, 2025. This year’s theme, HEAT, explores its multifaceted implications—ecological, political, social, and sensual. The conference seeks contributions from artistic researchers, curators, performers, and cross-disciplinary collaborators, encouraging work-in-progress ideas and innovative approaches to this urgent and transformative topic.
Conference Focus
The theme HEAT invites exploration of:
- Its duality as a threat (climate crisis) and a catalyst for transformation or pleasure.
- Manifestations of heat as violence, generative friction, or embodied exuberance.
- Conductors and by-products of heat, including chaos, urgency, and unruliness.
- The sensory expressions of heat, through sound, movement, or other artistic forms.
Submission Guidelines
Proposals should address:
- Relevance to the theme HEAT.
- Potential to foster interdisciplinary dialogue.
- Originality in concept and approach.

- Proposals undergo a peer-review process by the PARSE committee.
