Open call for Curator
Created by Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli in 1993, the Foundation believes that culture is valuable and necessary, as well as interesting and engaging.
Fondazione Prada explores the present through an experimental multidisciplinary program, which includes art exhibitions, film festivals, scientific conferences and activities, music and performance projects held at its two Milan venues and its Venice space, as well as in international cities such as Shanghai and Tokyo.
Fondazione Prada is seeking a new curator for the Research and Publications department of its Milan office.
The curator will work with the Head of Research and Publication and the curatorial team on the development of the Foundation’s cultural program, contributing new ideas and innovative stimuli for the creation of exhibitions, projects, and publications. He or she will coordinate contacts with artists, external curators, lenders, designers, and others by involving them in the various stages of the project with the aim of ensuring the scientific accuracy of the content and the coherence of the exhibition project in keeping with the Foundation’s mission.
The ideal candidate will have an excellent knowledge of modern and contemporary art and an aptitude for exploring related disciplinary areas such as science, the performing arts, cinema, and architecture, which are an integral part of the Foundation’s program.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience working in the area of cultural institutions; exhibition spaces or galleries; organizing research exhibitions; multidisciplinary projects; loan-based monographic and retrospective exhibitions; writing essays and curatorial texts; and editorial coordination. He or she will have excellent interpersonal skills and an important network of contacts in the world of art and culture, with a willingness to build new relationships at all levels. The ability to work as a team while respecting deadlines and maintaining an organized approach with excellent attention to precision and detail is essential. Fluent Italian and English required.
