Opportunity
FaB (Fringe Arts Bath) is extending an invitation to emerging Curators to design and curate a showcase as part of the Fringe Arts Bath Festival, scheduled to run from May 24th to June 9th, 2024. We are eager to embrace fresh and thought-provoking ideas. FaB serves as a playground for experimentation, pushing boundaries and offering Curators and Artists a platform to present groundbreaking work outside the confines of traditional galleries.
Eligibility
We welcome proposals from individuals at all stages of their journey, whether you are a student, recent graduate, artist, or have a passion for the arts. There is no requirement for the label “Curator” on your business card. We believe in inclusivity and open the doors to local, national, and international enthusiasts.
Support and Resources
FaB is here to support you. We offer assistance in connecting with artists, promotion, securing both physical and online exhibition space, logistics, and more. While we cannot provide funding at this time, we can discuss covering certain agreed-upon expenses. It’s essential to know that FaB is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers.
Types of Shows
FaB Curators’ shows can encompass a broad spectrum, including performance, intervention, installation, multimedia and video work, photography, drawing, painting, sculpture, and everything in between.

Over the years, FaB has facilitated exchanges between artists and curators from various locations, creating a global community.
Submission Guidelines
- Submit a proposal of approximately 500 words outlining your themes, supported by images and your CV.
- You can send your proposal in PDF, PowerPoint, video, audio, or by post. If you prefer another format, feel free to let us know.

Selection Process
The FaB committee will inform you of their selections by the week commencing November 13th, 2023. Subsequently, a Curators’ meeting will be held for those chosen, providing an opportunity to present your ideas and gain deeper insights into FaB. Your show will be promoted in FaB’s call out to artists in spring 2024.
Support
FaB will provide administrative support, practical guidance through regular meetings, mentorship from previous Curators, exhibition space, advertising, and more. You will be responsible for promoting your own call-out and exhibition, writing blog updates, and maintaining a social media presence. We’ll be there to support you throughout this journey.
FaB Festival
The FaB Festival attracts approximately 8,500 visitors annually, hosting up to 30 exhibitions and over 40 events in various venues throughout Bath’s city streets.
