Open Call for applications from Uk-Based artists, curators and thinkers for a three-month residency
science_technology_society
In partnership with Gaia Art Foundation, Delfina Foundation is offering three three-month residencies in Autumn 2020 for UK-based artists, curators or thinkers.
Each year, Delfina’s UK Associate Progamme offers up to ten UK-based practitioners the opportunity to develop their practice through a bespoke programme of activities around specific themes. Together with Gaia Art Foundation, Delfina is offering three residencies within its science_techology_society theme. This is the second year that Gaia Art Foundation and Delfina have partnered on this programme.
We welcome artists, curators and thinkers who are actively envisioning projects or public programming that crosses art, science, and technology to apply. The purpose of this open call is to select projects and practitioners that we wish to jointly engage and support through residencies, collaborations and commissions, as well as to identify key concerns and approaches that will ultimately shape our programme over the next iterations.
Delfina and Gaia Art Foundation will complement the selected practitioners from this open call with other relevant participants and experts from various fields. The ambition is to create a focused environment to foster collaboration, incubate ideas and support the development of new projects that can make an impact on the world around us. For this reason, we are interested in projects that are problem-led, whereby the programme can be used to develop solutions through cross-disciplinary, mutual exchange. We are also interested in ideas that have the capacity to go beyond exhibition spaces, labs and publications, and those that explore different modes of production and dissemination.
The programme will feature a series in-person and online interactions, as well as public programmes, in keeping with the latest health guidelines.
