Role Purpose
The Operations Manager supports the Director and wider team in the day-to-day running of the organisation, with responsibility for financial and operational management. This includes maintaining the overall budget, producing management accounts, monitoring raised funds, overseeing building operations, and supporting charity governance.
The role line manages a Bookkeeper and Gallery & Communications Assistant. The Operations Manager is also a keyholder, first aider, and fire marshal (training provided) and may be required to respond to out-of-hours emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial management, including maintaining the organisational budget and producing management accounts.
- Monitoring and managing raised funds.
- Overseeing building operations and supporting governance functions.
- Line managing the Bookkeeper and Gallery & Communications Assistant.
- Carrying out duties as keyholder, first aider, and fire marshal.
- Supporting the Director and wider team in the effective daily management of the organisation.
Person Specification
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Experience in managing organisational operations, including financial management and administration.
- A commitment to access and inclusivity in the arts and cultural sectors.
- Understanding of the importance of supporting artists and young people.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage staff and resources effectively.
